Mackmyra is a pioneer in Swedish whisky and the first Swedish distillery in modern times—apart from Vin & Spritcentralen’s short-lived venture with Skeppets Whisky in the 1960s. The distillery is located just outside Gävle, Sweden, in the modern Mackmyra Whisky Village, home to the innovative Gravity Distillery—a gravity-fed distillery designed with sustainability in focus. The goal is to minimize the environmental footprint by using local raw materials and resources. The whisky is crafted from Swedish barley, crystal-clear water, and aged in Swedish oak casks.
For its smoky whisky, Mackmyra has also developed a unique method where the barley is malted and smoked on-site using peat and juniper, giving it a distinctive Swedish character.
Mackmyra’s groundbreaking work has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including World Distiller of the Year, Best Distillery, and Most Sustainable Distillery, further cementing its position as one of the world’s most innovative whisky producers.

Svensk Ek is a rare gem when it comes to character. The powerful Swedish oak casks and all-natural Swedish ingredients bring notes of dried ginger, sweet caramel and spicy oak.
Nose: Fruity aroma of pear, apricot, and zesty citrus. Sweet tones of vanilla fudge and honey. Spicier tones of ginger and pepper.
Taste: The taste lives up to the promise of the aroma with pear, citrus, and dried ginger. The sweet tones now lean towards caramel, sweet almonds, and slightly bready notes. The taste also reveals spicy oak influences.
Aftertaste: The aftertaste is long and warming. Sweet milk chocolate balances the robust oak influences and the spicy pepper and ginger.

Taste: The peaty character is more explicit on the palate than on the nose. Dry oak combined with herbs, green fruits and vanilla

Mackmyra Brukswhisky has a balanced character with fruits and butterscotch. The nose is clean and fresh, with light, spicy, notes of Swedish peat and juniper. Clear fruitiness with butterscotch, citrus and pear. Prominent notes are liquorice and mint. The palate is fruity and slightly smoky while the aftertaste is fruity and slightly spicy. Enjoy Brukswhisky as it is, with or without ice, on any occasion.

Nose: The nose is youthful and fruity with notes of pear, apple, and citrus. Sweet tones of vanilla and honey. From the raw distillate, there are also traces of herbs and mild spices.
Taste: Notes from the nose are present in the taste where vanilla is most pronounced, along with orange citrus and apricot. Subtle tones of honey, cinnamon, and almond.
Aftertaste: The aftertaste is relatively short with pear and vanilla shining most prominently. The oak cask character is present but by no means dominant in any way.

Svensk Ek and Svensk Rök — are two strong characteristics that are essential for Mackmyra. In this expression, they both play a significant role. Mackmyra Identitet is a vibrant encounter and a showdown between big personalities. A peated whisky where the experience intensifies from aroma to taste and finally reaches its peak in the long finish.
Nose: A gentle and deep note of peat is the first to make itself known. Behind it, there are lively citrus tones of orange, sweet vanilla, and a subtle nutty undertone.
Taste: Full-bodied peat with both distinct sweetness and mild bitterness provides a warming sensation. The sweeter elements include flavours of vanilla toffee, brown sugar, and cashew nuts. The citrus tones are perceived as flavours of lemon, orange and ginger.
Aftertaste: All the components from the aroma and taste, both sweet and citrusy, are present in the long finish. The full-bodied yet gentle peat is particularly pronounced. Notes of oak bitterness and a hint of dark chocolate emerge as well.

KAIZEN 01 - GYOKURO
Kaizen is a trilogy about Swedish whisky and Japanese tea. A fusion of craftsmanship and passion from different continents. The expressions have been aged in ex-bourbon casks saturated with exclusive Japanese tea – resulting in three complex whiskies with unconventional tasting notes.
Kaizen 01: Limited to 2,491 bottles.
Nose: The aroma is fresh and sweet, where lemon meets ripe pineapple and vanilla. Green elements in the form of herbs, green leaves, and seaweed are also present and become more pronounced as the whisky is aired. A hint of arrack is found high up in the glass.
Taste: In the taste, the tea and whisky harmonize in a delicate manner. Vanilla and dried fruit are embraced by subtly bitter tea tones and freshly cut grass. The citrus notes persist from the aroma.
Aftertaste: The finish is medium-length with a distinct tea character. Some herbal notes are introduced, and the arrack reappears, all enveloped in sweet tones of dried fruit.

Kaizen is a trilogy about Swedish whisky and Japanese tea. A fusion of craftsmanship and passion from different continents. The expressions have been aged in ex-bourbon casks saturated with exclusive Japanese tea – resulting in three complex whiskies with unconventional tasting notes.
Kaizen 02 is limited to 2,542 bottles.
Nose: The nose is sweet with both fruit sweetness and vanilla. Apricot and mango harmonize with vanilla fudge. Here is a certain sweet citrus present, as well as hints of pine resin and licorice.
Taste: The taste is fresher than the nose with more pronounced citrus and herbal notes, but the fruitiness and vanilla are still present. Slightly bitter tea and nut tones land deep in the taste.
Aftertaste: The aftertaste is crisp and medium-length with a mild tea character. A nutty undertone complements the distinct herbal tones nicely. Far into the finish, the tropical fruits make a comeback.
